The Busy Bee

While weeding in my garden, I watched an industrious bee buzzing from flower to flower. During this process, the pollen weighed the bee down as it gathered more and more of the gold dust on its body.

I suddenly realised that in our lives we can carry around so many responsibilities that we can become weighed down too.

But there is a positive side to this story. The bee cross-pollinates as it flies from flower to flower, and it uses the nectar to make honey.

Rather than allowing our concerns to weigh us down and create a negative state of mind, we can patiently change our focus and look at our struggles as opportunities from God.

We have the opportunity to draw on our faith to find peace in the gospel of Christ—and then to carry that Good News from one life experience to another, even sharing the love, peace and joy of the Lord with everyone we meet. In this way we become a blessing wherever we go, just like the busy bee.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, even when we are weighed down with responsibilities and worries, help us to spread your love and good news. Amen
