Real Love

Bible Reading: Luke 10:25-37

If we have real love, we will be willing to help people in need.

That’s what happened in our Bible Reading today.

Our verses tell us about a Jewish man who was robbed and beaten. Two other Jewish men saw him, but refused to help him. Then a Samaritan came along. Even though Jews and Samaritans did not associate with each other, this Samaritan man took care of the man who was hurt.

It is not enough for us to see needy people and say, “Oh, I am sorry. I feel so sad!” We need to show our love by helping these people.

James 2:15-16 says, “Suppose a brother or sister in Christ comes to you in need of clothes or something to eat. And you say to them, ‘God be with you! I hope you stay warm and get plenty to eat,’ but you don’t give them the things they need. If you don’t help them, your words are worthless.”

Be sure to show real love today. Help someone in need. —RK*

Luke 10:34b “The Samaritan had a donkey. He put the hurt man on his donkey, and he took him to an inn. There he cared for him.”

PRAYER: Dear Father, I want to show other people that I really love them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
