Hope: Why?

Bible Reading: John 3:16-21

Maybe you wonder why God gives us hope for eternal life. Or you wonder why God would allow His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross. Our Bible Reading today helps us understand why God did these things.

John 3:16 is a verse that many people memorise. It is important that we understand this verse. This verse tells us why God sent Jesus to live on the earth and die on the cross.

The first part of this verse says, “God loved the world so much.” This means God loves you and me. And what did God do because of His love? “

He gave his only Son.” Why did God do this? “So that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.”

In John 11:25-26a Jesus said, “I am the resurrection. I am life. Everyone who believes in me will have life, even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never really die.”

Praise God today for His great love and gift of salvation through Jesus! —BH

John 3:17 “God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.”

PRAYER: Lord, I am so thankful that You loved me enough to send Jesus to die. In His name. Amen.
