Needing a Refuge?

Earlier this morning, on a cold and stormy day, I set out for town and got soaked. What a relief to reach the first shop and hurry through the door! It was a haven of light and warmth. Two other people were heading in the same direction so we all bundled through the door together.

It was so good to enjoy that sheltering place. Now, home and dry again, I’ve been thinking of other sheltering places I’ve valued down the years—such as a cool shady tree on a blistering hot day, or a convenient rock to protect me from a high wind, to say nothing of my old umbrella beneath which I’ve huddled through many a deluge.

There have been a number of times when I’ve needed God’s kindly and strong protection too. When you’re up against it, God’s presence is a good place to go to. The Bible mentions storms and sheltering places so often because God wants us to always find a refuge in him.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are a safe shelter for us. May we be quick to turn to you when we find ourselves in the middle of a storm. Amen

Would it be possible to have a section where the Gospel is explained for Deaf people who are not yet true Christians to view? Maybe it could be a translation of a good tract? In fact, as Christians, we can never study the Gospel message enough for as we grasp it more and more our love for God grows and compels us to share it with others. God bless your endeavours for Him KS
