I recently suffered from a bout of flu. I tried to accomplish my tasks as usual, but every time I tried, I felt dizzy. I prayed and asked God to heal me, but the illness only seemed to get worse. Eventually I started to feel better, and after about a week I was able to complete my tasks well, even though they all took a much longer time than usual.
All the time, I wondered why God did not heal me immediately so that I could finish everything I had to do on time. Then, while reading the Bible in my quiet time, I came upon today’s quoted verse. It helped me to realise that although I was ill, God had given me strength to finish my tasks.
Sometimes the only way out of trouble is to push through it. When our prayers seem to go unanswered, we tend to worry and become afraid. But whatever happens in our lives, God is always with us. Our situations or circumstances may not always seem good, but we can persevere because we have a strong God.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for always being with us. Because of you, we are strong and can do all things. Amen
