Because I have some hearing loss, I often miss or misunderstand what people say to me. Some people become irritated when I ask them to repeat things. I sometimes find myself feeling that what I have to say is not important enough to warrant frustrating others, so I am often reluctant to talk, especially to people I do not know well.
One day, God reminded me that even though I have trouble hearing I can still talk. I know Jesus as my Saviour and today’s reading tells me to share my faith so that other people can know him too. I can share the good news about Jesus’ birth in a lowly manger, how he healed many people, and how he died on the cross for all of us. I can share the promise of eternal life through Christ. This assurance is too important to keep to myself!
It’s not always easy to talk to others about our faith, but we can trust God to show each of us our own way to share the good news of Christ with others.
Prayer: Dear Lord, guide us to those who need to hear about you and grant us the courage to share the good news of your birth, death and resurrection with them. Amen
