A priceless gift

My parents were great people, but when I was young they weren’t Christians. They hadn’t been brought up in Christian homes, and they had a lot of questions. Even so, my mother found a place to have me baptised, and my brother and I were taken regularly to Sunday school. Mum later came to Christ after becoming acquainted with Eileen, who shared her love of music and literature and whose life was grounded in the Lord. Dad found his way to faith through early-morning coffee meetings with my caring minister, Reverend Zuhl, who helped my father confront his faith issues.

Reverend Zuhl and Eileen helped bring my family to unity in Christ and brought the bread of life to my spiritually hungry family. My mother eventually told me that her morning prayer always includes, ‘Lord, put me in a place of need today.’ And God has seldom disappointed her. Opportunities for ministry found her wherever she was. Our friends gave our family a priceless gift that we can all share with others – the joyful gift of God’s love.

Prayer: Dear Lord, give us an awareness of those around us who need to know Christ. May the joy we find in following you bring light to someone else’s life today. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Just wanted to say thank you for making BSL daily devotions available. I am hearing and often sign at church for d/Deaf friends. I am finding this resource very useful in helping me improve my signing skills as well as focussing on God every day, bless you. CR
