Book of Hope

Bible Reading: Isaiah 53:1-12

The Bible is truly a book of hope because it tells us about Jesus. Through Him, we have the hope of eternal life with God.

You may think that only the New Testament tells us about Jesus. But in the Old Testament, Genesis 3:15 tells us that someday God’s Son will come and destroy the devil. Many Old Testament books prophesy about Jesus coming to earth to be the perfect sacrifice.

Our Bible Reading today tells us what Jesus did for us.

Verse 5 says, “But he was being punished for what we did. He was crushed because of our guilt. He took the punishment we deserved, and this brought us peace. We were healed because of his pain.”

Because Jesus died on the cross, we have the hope of living forever with Him.

Take some time today to remember Jesus' sacrifice, and praise God for the hope that He has given to you. —ECW

Isaiah 53:10-11 “But the Lord was pleased with this humble servant who suffered such pain...After his suffering he will see the light, and he will be satisfied with what he what he experienced.”

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word which shows us the hope we have in Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
