Are We There Yet?

Bible Reading: 1 John 2:20-25

Recently I travelled to visit friends around England, Scotland and Wales. As I drove back to home, I became tired of sitting in the car. I was very anxious to get home. I was like my youngest daughter who often asks, “Are we there yet?”

That question makes me think about my life. Living here on earth is like my driving trip. Problems with family, money, jobs and health can make us tired and anxious. We wonder when our problems will be over and we will be able to spend eternity with God.

Our Bible Reading today talks about God’s promise of eternal life.

Verse 25 says, “And this is what the Son promised us — eternal life.” The earth is not our real home. When our work here on earth is finished, God will take us to live with Him forever. Then we can ask, “Are we there yet?” and the answer will be, “Yes!”

God wants you to live with Him forever. Follow and serve Him today. —SAH

1 John 2:24 “Be sure that you continue to follow the teaching you heard from the beginning. If you do that, you will always be in the Son and in the Father.”
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your promise of eternal life through Jesus. In His name. Amen.
