There have been times in my life when I have so disobeyed God and Christ’s teachings that I thought I was beyond help and love.  It weighed heavily on my mind that God might not want to have anything to do with me because of my sins.  How glad I am that God’s thoughts are not the same as mine! I am grateful to God that with the help of the Holy Spirit, I am learning how to stand strong against temptation and to lean on God’s teachings.

Following Christ requires us to change our hearts and minds.  Many things can influence our thoughts and actions and cause us to stray from our daily walk with Christ.  But the Holy Spirit reminds us that Christ is our ultimate example.  His earthly life, work, and ministry were not deterred by anything or anyone.  Quite the contrary, because of the power of his love for us, Christ overcame sin and death and offers us life everlasting

Prayer: Forgiving God, we count on your unfailing strength to help us overcome the stumbling blocks in our faith journey.  Uphold us when we falter, and pick us up when we fall. Amen.
