Making A Difference

My energetic 70-year-old friend Mary Ann broke her leg and had to be wheelchair bound and then on crutches for quite a while.  During that time, I saw a post on Facebook from one of the women of our church, seeking help decorating for a father-daughter ball.  Mary Ann’s comment in response was, “If you have something I can do sitting down, I will be glad to help.”  Now that is a servant spirit.  She has mastered the way to make the world a brighter place for anyone whose life she touches.

So many times we fail to see our potential because we allow our limitations to discourage us.  But every day we are given opportunities to reach out to serve God, to love others, and to make a difference.  Whether by a phone call, a handwritten note, or just a smile, we all have the means to make our world a better place.

Prayer: Father God, help us to see beyond our limitations to the potential we all have to serve you each day.  Amen.
