We can pray

As Christians, we spend much time wrestling with difficult scripture, debating grey areas and trying to find God’s direction in our lives. While all these efforts are important, sometimes we tend to miss the most obvious answer before us: prayer. How often do we look at our world, grieve internally for the chaos, assign blame and then
orget to pray? We may feel completely helpless, not knowing what to do. Sometimes God calls us to take action, to drop everything and be on the front lines of solving the problems. At other times, all we can do is pray. Often, we can do both.

We all face important decisions in our personal lives, decisions that provoke uncertainty or anxiety. If only God gave us simple instructions to follow! But scripture does: ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Life is uncertain. But even if everything else is stripped awayfrom us, we can choose to pray.

Prayer: Almighty God, may we never forget that prayer brings us close to you and that you are the source of our strength and peace. Amen

I am so thrilled and excited about the BSL version of Deaf Missions Daily Devotions. I have their booklet and been using them for nearly a year. I have good command of English but still struggle with the concept of the context at times. What a difference it has made just watching someone signing the passage so clearly and of superior quality! I notice the USA are far more advanced with access to the Gospel in ASL but now you have made it possible for us. So many thanks for this! May it go from strength to strength. JJ
