Basket of Blessings

When I was a young mother, one of my least-favourite tasks was folding the clean clothes for my family. All those baskets heaped with mounds of little shirts, trousers, dresses, socks and baby blankets would take ages to fold. Just looking at them made me miserable. Then one day  in the middle of my grumbling, a thought settled in my mind. What if, instead of viewing this task as a chore, I could see it as one of God’s blessings? What if I prayed for each member of my family while I folded their clean clothes? And so I began.

The blankets reminded me that God’s love surrounded and comforted each child. Each T-shirt was a prayer for a loving heart. Even the endless socks, which never seemed to come out even, became a prayer that the feet they covered would walk in God’s path. Before I knew it, all those baskets were empty; the bed was full of neatly folded clothes and my heart overflowed with gratitude for all of God’s blessings.

My children are now grown and have families of their own, and folding laundry is still not my favourite task. But when I remember to adjust my spiritual attitude, the baskets of drudgery are transformed into baskets of blessings.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to recognise and give thanks for the blessings you surround us with every day. Amen

I was so enjoyed to read your speaking of bsl daily devotion everyday with variety of different bsl skills from worker who work for the Lord as Thank God for sending out God's perfect words to the world. Nothing is too hard for Him. God's word's is the million best of the heaven than the news of the world. I prayed that those who did bsl daily devotion will get more strength from God to translate from English or whatever language into bsl and another sign language to tell gospel well to the world and touch their soul to glory God in Jesus's name. I am very humbly honour those who first set up BSl daily devotion with Team. God bless you to the end.
