I am part of an interdenominational Bible study. Every week over 300 women gather together to worship, discuss questions, hear a lecture on that week’s reading, and pray. We represent every Christian denomination in our area. It doesn’t matter if we belong to the biggest or the smallest church; we are all seeking to know more about the Bible and God, and to carry what we learn with us as we each go back to our own churches.

To me, this is what the body of Christ is all about: believers coming together to be enriched spiritually so that we can be the hands, feet, eyes, ears and mouth of Christ in our communities. Each week when we meet I imagine that God is smiling because we are functioning as one.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for the opportunity to be part of your body here on earth. We pray as you taught us saying, ‘Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen
