Bible Reading: Psalm 119:97-106

In 2014 our family migrated from Pakistan to Canada. As newcomers, we faced many challenges during the initial months. One of these was to learn our way around our new city. One day we needed to go to the local school to arrange our younger son’s admission. We checked the directions before driving, but somehow we took a wrong turn and went in a different direction. We were very upset when we discovered how far away from the school we had ended up.

My elder son suggested we get a sat nav system to help us find our way while driving. That same day we bought one and started using it. We just had to type in the address and follow the directions to reach a destination.

This experience led me to think about our life as faithful Christians. We are all on a journey toward eternal life, and the Bible serves as our ‘sat nav’ – providing guidance and direction for moving closer to God. During this journey, if we read and follow the teachings of scripture, we can move closer and closer to our ultimate destination: eternal life.

Prayer: Thank you, dear Lord, for scripture which guides us in your way in this life and toward life eternal. Amen
