In 2005 I was unjustly sacked from my job. For 14 months I remained at home, waiting, while my legal case was under review. Each morning I woke up anxious and sad, praying that my name would be cleared and that justice would be done. However, as the days passed, this disquiet- ing experience became, in fact, a positive one for me.

During those 14 months, I was able to be with my grandmother and great-aunt, to spend time with them and care for them. And from them  I learned the important lessons demonstrated in their daily devotional time, the spiritual depth of their unshakable faith in God, and the power and strength of prayer. In the end, my case was resolved. I resumed my position as director at my college, and I was warmly received again.

The following year my wonderful grandmother died; the next year  so did my beloved aunt. Their painful absence has been lessened by the memory of the time I spent with them and their witness and example of faithful living and prayer. My time with them restored my faith and left no doubt that God was at work to deliver me from an injustice.

Prayer: Almighty God, we are grateful that you are always ready to attend to our needs in the most difficult situations. Amen

I just wanted to congratulate you on this initiative. What an amazing resource for the Deaf community in the UK. Thank God for your obedience in going forward with this. GL
