Remember to Breathe

I recently went to the local hospital, where I had a painful medical procedure. At one point, the doctor stopped what he was doing and told me to breathe. I didn’t realise that pain had caused me to hold my breath, but several times throughout the procedure the doctor stopped and reminded me to breathe again.

A few days later, I realised that I have lived my life in the same way. Every time a problem or an unexpected challenge came along, I held my breath through it. I became stressed and could not relax. I knew that God had shown me mercy by helping me through difficult times. I also realised that he didn’t want me to hold my breath throughout my life. God wanted me to rest in faith, knowing that no matter what problem I was facing, he would help me through it.

I’m never alone; and even if another person does not remind me to breathe, God is always with me assuring me that I can rest. Knowing this, I can relax and breathe in his presence.

Prayer:
Breathing in, say: ‘Loving God.’
Breathing out, say: ‘You are with us in all our troubles.’
Amen

I just wanted to congratulate you on this initiative. What an amazing resource for the Deaf community in the UK. Thank God for your obedience in going forward with this. GL
